College in 4 DAYS

So with college coming sooner and sooner I've now decided to become a full time saver and pinch all my pennies. In order to save I have decided to take up couponing. And it was a success!

 

Got all of this at Meijer for 9¢! Thank you mperks and all you have to do is type FREEGALLON into mperks and you can get a free gallon of milk :)

 

 

How is it possible especially in Michigan where they set up ways to stop couponing I.e. not allowing double coupons etc? Well, the technique is you use coupons on ONLY sale items. So I pretty much got the Hello Kitty Folder, Milk, and Chex Mix for free. I only paid for the Aussie which was on sale but had to pay sales tax and that's how it was 9 cents.

 

So, couponing is awesome and I will hopefully continue to save :) Thank-you Mom for teaching me to be smart with my money.

New Job/College

Well a LOT has HAPPENED! I have got my school shopping all done for when I go to college. I also picked up another job in addition to Airbrushing and Tutoring. I now am a Hollister Model. Which has begun well and is a fun relaxed way to make money since College is expensive.

In the mean time, I've picked up riding Hunter/Jumper instead of saddle seat as part of the equestrian team. In general I love horse riding no matter what discipline.

Now my next big event is the Miss SouthCentral Pageant. It's a MAO Prelim and I've been walking in heels, practicing interview questions/presentation, getting my wardrobe together, practicing my pageant talent (Japanese Folk Song - Sakura (Cherry Blossoms)) and practicing getting my smile right.

Volunteering With Horses - Horses & Humans Working Together

So I started a new Pageant Platform which like Horses Haven' advocates horses/large animals along with volunteering. I saw a problem with most places I volunteered with large animals: There weren't enough volunteers or people that new of their existence. I decided to solve this problem by creating awareness via social media and now word of mouth. I have taken action by linking National Honor Society members who are in search of hours outside of their school with these programs as well as people who just love being around horses. There is no need for experience with horses just an open heart. I will be posting more about different organizations I meet along the way on both my blogger page for this and the facebook page.

DIY Flower Headband!

 

 

My DIY Flower Headband! Channeling my inner hippie. I decided to give this a try.

First, I got out some purple fake flowers that were in the sewing room from an old project and a lavender ribbon. I tied the lavender ribbon around my head for the perfect size and then cut the extra ends off.

Next, I took the purple fake flowers & lavender ribbon and hot glued the flowers onto the ribbon.

Finally I waited for it to dry and PRESTO I have a flower headband!

1) Turn Cup Upside Down
2) Hit Bottom 3X (Right, Left, Right)
3) Clap 1X
4) Pick up cup & set it down
5) Clap 1X
6) Turn left hand over to pick cup up
7) Hit top of cup w/ right hand
8) Hit bottom edge of cup onto table
9) Switch cup from left to right hand
10) Tap table w/ free hand
11) Place cup down w/ right hand

REPEAT until song ends

Senior Prom Pre-Plans

Ok So right here is my dress but it's in Red. I am not going to post a picture of me wearing my dress until the day which is in May. I really love this dress, its classic and flatters my petite frame. I haven't decided my hair but I know it'll be an updo and will be done at Indulgence Salon.

Finding Extra $$$$

Well, it looks like I’m now tutoring officially! Even tho it’s only elementary math and english I’m very happy to be supplmenting my income :)

Now that college is approaching I'm trying to find every bit of cash or change and put it into my college fund.

But like any student I am easily distracted by things that are shiny or have anything with horse, pageant, prom, and graduation associated with it.

So, I've decided to supplement my income with tutoring and am in the works to starting my own business. I decided to think positive and that there is an abundance of money out in the world that I just need to find.

And to also continue couponing..... Speaking of which I ended up buying 10 packs of tic tacs for FREE because of it!!!!

Those are my thoughts for today. How do you supplement?

My first Horse Betsey and I jumping! She passed away of cancer in 2005 at 10 years old and will be forever missed. She got me into horse back riding and is inspiration for me to continue jumping fences again as a member of the Adrian College Equestrian team this coming fall.

With some thought and talking to some business professionals I've decided to let the inner entrepreneur out and start my own business.

As you may know I like creating Airbrush Tattoos. I have had this airbrush tattoo making kit since last summer and I have had fun "tatting" my friends and relatives. I like how they're colorful but best of all they last a week and I can always try new designs.

So I've decided to start Airtoos by Marcia. I'm going to start promoting my business in the Spring to the public.

So today (01/22/2013) a couple people came up to me and was like did you get tatted? I laughed and after a closer inspection they realized these designs were airbrushed.

 

I like doing this it's my way of being "artistic" since my drawing skills are pretty much non-existent.

Eating Habits

Well I mostly eat Japanese food and for snacks I eat blueberries and raspberries. I picked 50lb of the berries and froze them with my family and now I enjoy my hard work.

Staple Japanese Foods: Rice (no surprise), Miso Soup (soy bean paste with tofu and seaweed), green tea or Ocha.

I'm also carbonated drink free and Crisco free

                         Ever seen those Temporary Airbrush Tattoos at the fairs?
Well I have one of those machines and a few stencils and this is what I also enjoy doing in my spare time. I'm still practicing with it but sooner or later I'll figure it out.

Braiding Horse Manes & Tails

Since It was a cold day today instead of riding I braided my horses manes and tails!!!

I would first like to start off by saying I have a PASSION for horses. Because it is a PASSION I've created a new page which you will find on the right hand side of this screen.

I currently own 3 horses: Mack's Rambling Reb (Tennessee Walker) Stonewall Mike (American Saddlebred) and HSA Noble Heir (National Show Horse)

I've been riding horses for 14 years and I have done Saddle Seat, Hunt Seat, Western, and Jumping.

I will be joining the Adrian College Equestrian Team next fall 2013 and am very excited to return to Jumping Fences.

Rose Dutch Flower Braid

Wore this yesterday to the Willy Wonka Play. How did I do it? Youtube!!!

TIPS: wet hair, and when doing the braid across your head take small strands, when doing the rose part do the first couple plaits really tight and then stop 3in before the end of the hair and then gently loosen the bumps to make bigger petals.

The Dutch Flower Braid

This is a DUTCH FLOWER BRAID.
I’ve gotten many compliments on this look and they always ask me how did you do it by yourself and in less than 10 minutes???? Well here’s the youtube link:

TIPS: Wet your hair, when turning the braid switch the direction of your hands, try to go by feel not so much staring in the mirror because it just looks a lot more natural that way. PRACTICE makes perfect!!!
Now go out and try it and smile when you get compliments ;)
